Wedding Plans March On!
A month away from the Big Day, and the frenzy is heating up, but in an organized way!! Even after a long businesss career, I am amazed at all the 'little details' that must be addressed. Sunni is doing a masterful job of keeping all issues moving towards resolution, and David is a key component of that effort. He is keeping close tabs on the ever-changing numbers on the guest list, and is Chief Contract Reviewer. Thursday, David and I will be meeting with Terry to give her the deposit and discuss the event details. And the clock keeps ticking....!!!

The Unsinkable Harbor Hills Titanic

Yes, the Harbor Hills version of the Titanic sailed from the clubhouse, on the same day as the authentic Titanic's fateful sail, April 14. Fortunately, we enjoyed all the amenities (great food, dancing and gambling) without taking on any additional water! A great time was had by all...Montage created by friend and neighbor Ted Drzewiecki. Click on the image for a closer view. Use your back arrow to return.

Wedding Update!!
We're talking less than forty-five days to the Big Day!
- Tuxedos figured out - Check.
- Card holder for cards and checks - Check.
- Alteration lady sewing a matching jacket for my dress - Check.
- Lisa's dress altered - Complete and Check!
Of course there are more than a million other details, but things are moving along rather quickly and fairly well...Let's put it this way - I'm still vertical and able to talk and walk at the same time!! Invitation confirmations are arriving daily and the Grand Total could be about 150 people. Fifty for the rehearsal dinner and fifty for the afterparty..But we're 'rising to the challenge' to make this a great day for our daughter and her soon-to-be new husband...

It's Good To Be King (s)!!

Yes, not only did David and Ron sweep their flight at this year's Harbor Hills Member-Guest Tournament, but they WON THE WHOLE ENCHILADA!!
Surviving the three hole playoff for each of seven flight-winning teams, only two teams remained. In a total nailbiter (believe me), David's superior chip clinched the win! The chip was struck to thunderous applause, as the neighbors, in golf carts, celebrated the victory! More surprises were in store for the Dynamic Duo at the banquet that evening. The winners, David and Ron, received a standing ovation and accepted their trophies (which looked remarkably like the Heiseman!) Additional prizes included: golf bags by Cadillac, gold-engraved putters and the prized Harbor Hills jacket, suitable for wearing at next year's banquet. A fantastic time was had by all!
Pictured below, our golf pro Brady joins the celebration!

Above, neighbors gather in golf carts by the third green for the breathtaking finale of this year's tourney.

It's A Rematch!!

Hard to believe that a full year has gone by, since David and his longtime friend Ron played 'lights out' at last year's Member-Guest tourney in Harbor Hills. But here it is again, and the Terrific Twosome will be defending their Second Place title, and vieing for First Place this year. The tourney is played Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29th with a Thursday practice round. Saturday night culminates in a big bash with terrific prizes and trophies. I'm getting my party dress ready and a new spot on the credenza for a crystal cup! Pictured above are last year's triumphant winners!

Music of the Night!

Our country club held a 'Music of the Night' evening, Friday October 17. It was a big turnout, complete with drinks, dinner and dancing. We enjoyed the evening, which required a little dressier attire than normal....Of course these folks took the Phantom theme 'up a notch.' A great time was had by all. For more pics of the evening, click here. Don't forget Page 2 by clicking "2" next to the green 'gallery pages.'

Harbor Hills First Crop!

Tuesday, September 26th, marked the first ever "Scrapbooking Day" held at Harbor Hills. We had a lovely turnout, with ladies all new to the scrapbooking hobby. Irene Howe, Creative Memories consultant from the Villages, was instrumental in getting the group off to a creative start. Many thanks to all participants, and let's get those photos out of the boxes in the back of the closet!!

Opera Night!

Last Thursday, September 14 was Opera Night at Isabella's Restaurant. The entertainment was divine, and the company even moreso! We joined in the activities with a few renditions of our own, with our friends Geo and Jerri Mayer. For more photos of this operatic event, see this link and use your back button to return.

Kids Camp Was "Fab"!!!

Grandson Danny joined the rest of the Harbor Hills gang for Kids Camp this summer. He golfed, swam, played tennis and even made cookies and bread!! The counselors did a wonderful job keeping the kids interested and active. David and I enjoyed having Danny visit with us for the week. Click on the link for more pictures of summer camp fun. The Wildlife of Harbor Hills
Having lived for four years in Port St. Lucie, we'll miss the abundance of sand hill cranes, strolling across the golf courses. However, the country club and golf course at Harbor Hills boasts its' own beauty. Wild peacocks are at every turn, showing off their incredible colors of blues and golds. It's an amazing sight. Given the few cranes we've seen, and these colorful birds, I'm sure we'll feel right at home in no time!
